ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Mother Nature was more than some systems could handle after recent severe weather hit the St. Louis region. But not every call is necessarily a 911 emergency. Inside the St. Louis County Communications Center, they are preparing for another round of potential bad weather and a slew of phone calls."First, only call 911 when you have an emergency,” said Audra Parker, a St. Louis County Dispatcher. “That's number one. Try to be aware of your surroundings, so you can give us your location immediately. Pay attention to landmarks and businesses, and just know where you are, so we can get help to you as soon as possible.”Parker has been a 911 dispatcher for St. Louis County for the last six years. She said she heard the frustration after numerous incoming calls to 911 recently. 3 killed, several injured in Greyhound bus crash “Don't hang up,” Parker said. “Just stay on the line as long as you possibly can. Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark: “We have a plan for expansion”

Published Thu, 06 Mar 2025 09:08:09 GMT

ARLINGTON, Texas – Big 12 Conference commissioner Brett Yormark is impressed with what Colorado has done in the first few months of the Deion Sanders era, but he’s certainly not ready to publicly talk about the Buffaloes in terms of expansion. On Wednesday at AT&T Stadium, the Big 12 kicked off its annual media days with a news conference from Yormark. The Pac-12 still doesn’t have a long-term media rights deal. Rumors and speculation of CU and a few other schools possibly joining the Big 12 are still flying. But, Tuesday was more about Yormark welcoming the four new members to the Big 12 — BYU, Central Florida, Cincinnati and Houston — rather than talking about adding more.“I feel like I’ve been talking about expansion for a year now,” said Yormark, who took over as Big 12 commissioner a year ago. “We have a plan for expansion. I’m not going to really address it today. You can ask me, but I’m not really going to address it.“We do have a plan and hopefully we can execute tha...

That company, which came to be known as Joybees, makes clogs that are similar to those of Crocs, the unabashedly unfashionable Broomfield-based business. As a result, Crocs and Joybees have been locked in a legal tussle for 20 months. Sorry, Weird Al and Madonna didn't hook up

Published Thu, 06 Mar 2025 09:08:09 GMT

By now, anyone who has seen “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” knows … well … very little about Weird Al’s real story.Sure, there are bits and pieces of truth. For example, Weird Al’s inspiration and mentoring from the legendary radio host Dr. Demento (played by Rainn Wilson) really happened. And yes, a door-to-door salesman really did spark his interest in the accordion. But what about that steamy, toxic love affair with Madonna that dominated the latter half of the film?As much fun as it is (or was) to imagine Weird Al and Madonna, two of the biggest hitmakers of the 80s hooking up, sadly, it didn’t happen.“I never really had a torrid love affair with Madonna, but I did meet her once for about half a minute,” Weird Al confessed to KTLA’s Sam Rubin on Wednesday. “I hate to admit it, but there might be a couple of things we took creative liberty with.”Weird Al Yankovic admits he and Madonna were not an item.
